4 Tips for a Safe Fourth of July in Los Angeles

Help keep our neighborhoods peaceful and safe this Fourth of July! Personal fireworks, including so-called “safe and sane” fireworks, are illegal in the City of Los Angeles. Follow these four simple safety tips:

1. Leave fireworks to the pros. Sit back, relax, and enjoy a professional fireworks show.

2. Keep pets calm. Fireworks may be fun for us but can be frightening for pets — keep them inside, calm, and secure.

3. Report illegal fireworks by calling 877-ASK-LAPD.

4. Celebrate responsibly. Never drink and drive. Celebrate freedom, not recklessness.
