Acclaimed Artist Shows at CSUN

Northridge East Neighborhood Council Youth Member Steven Ramirez enjoyed meeting renowned artist and San Fernando Valley resident, Robert Williams at his “Conceptual Realism in the Service of the Hypothetical” exhibit at CSUN. The exhibit opening held on Saturday, February 20 at the CSUN Art Gallery features some of Williams’ popular paintings and sculptures.

Williams’ new body of work, includes paintings, prints and, for the first time, sculptures. Known as an “artist’s artist,” Williams’ work travels from the underground comic world of the 1960s, through the founding of the popular art magazine, Juxtapoz, to his current body of work exploring the next step into abstract thought. This show travels from Tony Shafrazi Gallery where it originated.

The collection is on display until April 3 at CSUN Art Galleries, 18111 Nordhoff Street, Northridge, CA, 91330-8299. The galleries are open Mondays – Saturdays from noon to 4:00 p.m., Thursdays from noon to 8:00 p.m. It is closed Sundays and holidays. For more information call: (818) 677.2226.
