Steven Ramirez was one of 10 high school seniors awarded a college scholarship by the Fernando Award Foundation, Inc. Every year, the Fernando Foundation honors high school seniors who have excelled in community service. Steven was recently elected to the Northridge East Neighborhood Council and prior to that was its appointed student representative. While attending Northridge Academy High School, he was instrumental in the implementation of a recycling program at the school. He is currently a freshman at CSUN.
Steven was also awarded a $200 scholarship by Marnie Nemcoff, Chair of Northridge 100’s Marketing Committee, for winning second place in the Northridge 100 Essay Contest, which he entered while still a senior at Northridge Academy High School.
